Decatur E. "Bookie" Miller, 82, of Powhatan, died February 28, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Harris Miller; one son, Douglas C. Miller (Catherine); one daughter, Julie M. Martin of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, Christopher (Natasha) Martin, Dr. Brian (Emily) Miller, Jill Martin, Sara Hartman and Brooke (Trae) Harding; and four great-grandchildren, Savanna Hartman, Gwen Hartman, Taylor Harding and Caden Miller.
Mr. Miller was a retired supervisor from Reynolds Metals with forty years of service, a WWII Navy veteran and a member of Red Lane Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, 11 a.m. in the Red Lane Baptist Church. Interment church cemetery.
